Steven A. Denning is Chairman Emeritus of General Atlantic and has been part of the firm since its founding in 1980. As the second investment professional at the firm, Steve helped build General Atlantic with a singular vision of supporting entrepreneurs as they work to grow their businesses. From the outset, his mission has been to partner with strong growth companies led by exceptional management teams to help their organizations become market leaders. For over three decades, Steve has helped General Atlantic become a leading global growth investment firm, today with 14 offices around the world. Steve also served on the Board of Trustees of Stanford University from 2004 to 2017, including as its Chairman from 2012 to 2017. Before joining General Atlantic, Steve worked at McKinsey & Company and served for six years in the U.S. Navy.

Thomas Murphy is an Advisory Director at General Atlantic.  He previously served as Chief Financial Officer.  For 25 years, he served as a senior leader through some of General Atlantic’s most significant growth events, including the expansion of General Atlantic’s global footprint, capital base, and portfolio. Prior to joining General Atlantic, Tom was a Senior Accountant with Deloitte, where he primarily served clients in the financial services industry.

David Buckley is a Managing Director and leads General Atlantic’s Growth Acceleration team, which integrates market research, data science, and revenue acceleration efforts across the firm’s global investment program at every stage in the investment lifecycle. David and his team work closely with portfolio company executive teams to support key digital marketing, pricing optimization, and sales effectiveness initiatives, and by providing access to the GA Network. Before joining General Atlantic in 2011, David worked at McKinsey & Company where he served clients in the High Tech, Private Equity, and Industrial sectors as a member of the Marketing and Sales practice. Previously, he served as a Captain in the United States Army.

Kate de Mul is a Managing Director at General Atlantic, with principal responsibility for the firm’s investor servicing and reporting capabilities. Prior to joining General Atlantic in early 2024, Kate spent sixteen years with KKR leading the global client services team. Before her time at KKR, Kate worked at Goldman Sachs.

Susan Murphy is a Managing Director, firm Treasurer and the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis at General Atlantic. Prior to joining General Atlantic in 2021, Susan was a Director at KKR for 10 years responsible for the Firm’s Balance Sheet, global cash management, and debt compliance. She began her career as a Manager at both Deloitte and IBM Corporate Headquarters, working on Mergers and Acquisitions as well as global Financial Planning and Analysis.

Gary Reiner is an Operating Partner at General Atlantic, providing strategic support and advice to the firm’s investment teams and portfolio companies with a focus on strategy and technology. Before joining General Atlantic in 2010, Gary was Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of General Electric where he led the mergers & acquisitions, sourcing, IT, operations, and quality teams for the company. Prior to that, he was a Partner with The Boston Consulting Group where he led strategy and operational improvement for technology businesses.

Rich Gold is an Executive Vice President and Head of the Tax and Family Office at General Atlantic. He leads the firm’s personal tax planning program as part of the Finance and Accounting team. Before joining General Atlantic in 2003, Rich was a Manager with the Private Client Advisory group at Deloitte & Touche.

Yan Zhong is a Vice President of at General Atlantic and focuses on the firm’s financial planning & analysis. Before joining General Atlantic in 2022, Yan was a Director at Credit Suisse in the Mergers & Acquisitions group. Prior to that, she was one of the founding members at the London office of China Construction Bank.

Paul Doran is a Senior Vice President and Head of Investor Reporting at General Atlantic and focuses on the firm’s Capital Solutions and Investor Reporting efforts as part of the Finance and Accounting team. Prior to joining General Atlantic in 2000, Paul was a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he worked in the Assurance and Business Advisory Services group. Paul is a Certified Public Accountant.

Tracey Duff is a Senior Vice President and Global Controller of the General Partner Funds at General Atlantic, as part of the firm’s Finance and Accounting Team. Before joining General Atlantic in 2000, Tracey was a Senior Accountant with Synapse Group.

Liz Berkman is a Vice President at General Atlantic and focuses on the firm’s Capital Solutions and Investor Reporting efforts as part of the firm’s Finance team. Prior to joining General Atlantic in 2009, Liz was a Tax Supervisor at RSM focusing on tax compliance. Liz is a Certified Public Accountant.

David Bauer is a Vice President at General Atlantic and focuses on personal tax planning as part of the firm’s Tax and Family Office team. Before joining General Atlantic in 2007, David was with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Manager in its Personal Financial Services practice, focusing on high net worth individuals. David is a Certified Public Accountant.

Brian Berkowitz is a Vice President and Head of Fund Finance Transactions at General Atlantic, leading the firm’s transaction operations for all investment and liquidity activities globally.  Before joining General Atlantic in 2022, Brian was the Head of Private Equity Operations, North America, Managing Director at alterDomus. Prior to that, Brian was a Vice President and Assistant Financial Controller at CRT Capital. Prior to that, Brian was an Assistant Controller at Black Diamond Capital Management. Prior to that, Brian was a Supervising Senior Associate at KPMG. Brian is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Julie Di Russo is a Vice President at General Atlantic and focuses on Finance & Transactions. Prior to joining General Atlantic in 2005, Julie was an Administrative Officer at AllianceBernstein.

Dustin Lucas is a Vice President at General Atlantic and focuses on Audit & Compliance. Prior to joining General Atlantic in 2010, Dustin worked at Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy LLC as an Assistant Controller. Prior to that, he was an Audit Manager at PwC.  Dustin is a Certified Public Accountant.

John McKegney is a Vice President and Global Controller of the management company at General Atlantic as part of the Finance and Accounting team. Before joining General Atlantic in 2012, John worked at Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy LLC, now Castleton Commodities International, as a Vice President and Controller. Prior to that, John worked at IBM as a Senior Accountant within the software group.
